The Canadian Network on Cuba joins the hundreds of Cuba friendship and solidarity organizations across the world in congratulating the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) on its 55th anniversary. The creation of ICAP reflected the support of the world's peoples for the path of independence, sovereignty, independence and dignity that Cuba chose on January 1st, 1959, and the ideal that relations between countries and peoples be based on equality and mutual respect.
These 55 years have been marked by significant achievements and victories. Perhaps none more poignant and moving than the freedom of the Five Cuban Heroes. ICAP was front and centre in this struggle, playing a crucial role in breaking the wall of silence that the empire had constructed around the Five Cuban Heroes.
Since its inception the Canada-Cuba solidarity movement has worked closely with ICAP, building fraternal links of profound social affection and respect. These bridges of friendship between Canadians and Cubans can never be destroyed!
On the occasion of ICAP's 55th Anniversary and the 57th Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, we send our deepest and most heartfelt congratulations to all the compañeras and compañeros of ICAP, and to all the Cuban people.
¡Viva ICAP! ¡Viva la Revolución Cubana! ¡Viva Solidaridad! ¡Abajo El Bloqueo!
