Hurricane Irma Relief & Reconstruction for Cuba Campaign Print E-mail

Hurricane Irma menaced and devastated the eastern and northern Caribbean, striking Cuba from September 8-10, resulting in significant and widespread damage. Accompanied by massive flooding, its sweeping destruction encompassed housing, communications, infrastructure, agricultural equipment, crops, and community buildings.

U.S. levies a new fine for violating blockade against Cuba. New York, 9 June 2017. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury Department levied a new fine upon American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC), which amounts to $87,255 for violating the regulations of the U.S. blockade against Cuba.

In the Midst of Majority Bipartisan American Opposition to a Reversal

This week, Cuba is once again at the very center of American politics arising out of the controversy over the Cuba policy. However, to date, you would never know judging by the mainstream conglomerate media. Nonetheless, since the unofficial news broke on June 9 regarding Trump’s Miami visit and its purpose, there has been what seems to be an unprecedented daily (and now almost hourly) issuing of statements, positions and letters. The common denominator is a demand to not only allow trade and travel to continue under the new Cuba policy, but to end restrictions altogether.
